Cast & CNC Machined Railway Components We Manufacture

Railway service punishes components with sustained load, vibration and weather.

Brass and bronze alloys are preferred for durability, corrosion resistance and self-lubricating properties. Many of our railway parts are first produced as castings, then machined to tight tolerances.

Each part is CNC machined to customer 2D/3D drawings with calibrated inspection.

Component Materials Typical applications
Bushings Bronze, gunmetal Bogies, suspension and pivot points
Couplings Bronze, brass Mechanical and brake-system connections
Clamps & brackets Brass, bronze, aluminium bronz Line and equipment mounting
Housings Brass, bronze Electrical and mechanical enclosures on rolling stock
Pins & pistons Bronze, stainless steel Braking systems and linkages
Cantilever electrical parts Brass, aluminium bronze OHE cantilever assemblies
Custom locomotive components Brass, bronze, stainless steel Built to railway OEM drawings

OHE Fittings & Railway Electrification Components

For railway electrification we manufacture OHE (overhead equipment) fittings including cantilever bracket fittings and related machined parts.

These components combine the conductivity and corrosion resistance of copper alloys with the dimensional accuracy OHE assemblies demand, machined from cast or bar stock and inspected against drawing on calibrated gauges.

How We Manufacture Railway Components

Railway parts are qualified once and then supplied for years against a fixed drawing, so process repeatability matters more than flexibility.

Bushings, couplings and housings are cast in bronze, gunmetal and aluminium bronze on our sand casting and shell moulding lines, then CNC machined; pins, shafts and OHE hardware are machined from bar.

Bearing and pivot fits are held to +/-0.01 mm (10 microns). Casting and machining of the same part in one facility keeps a qualified component consistent across repeat orders.

Grade selection

Bronze and gunmetal for wear parts, brass and aluminium bronze for electrical hardware.

Casting

Sand cast and shell moulded blanks for bushings, couplings and housings.

CNC machining

Turning, milling and drilling to the qualified drawing.

Finishing

Deburring and any specified treatment, which is in our scope.

Inspection

Calibrated dimensional check and material verification against the approved drawing.

Railway Part Materials & Grades

Brass and bronze dominate railway wear parts for good reason: durability, corrosion resistance and self-lubricating behaviour under vibration. Stainless steel covers strength-critical pins and fasteners.

Railway Component Manufacturing Process

Railway components are approved against a qualified drawing and must repeat exactly across every batch.

Blanks are cast to near-net shape, machined to the approved drawing and verified against it before dispatch.

Why Choose Cast & Machined Railway Parts

Rolling stock components are inspected against a drawing that was approved years before the order, so the supplier’s job is to reproduce it exactly, batch after batch.

That is a documentation and process-control problem as much as a machining one.

Repeatable against a qualified drawing - controlled process, documented inspection every batch.

In-house casting plus machining for bushings, couplings and housings - one accountable supplier.

Wear alloys matched to duty - bronze and gunmetal for bogie, suspension and brake service.

OHE and electrification hardware in brass and aluminium bronze.

Bearing fits machined to +/-0.01 mm (10 microns).

Material traceability - test certificates with every batch, third-party NABL reports on request.
