Single vs Double Compression Cable Glands
A single compression cable gland seals the cable’s outer sheath with one compression ring – suited to indoor panels and unarmoured cable. A double compression cable gland clamps both the armour and the inner/outer sheath with two compression points, giving better pull-out strength, vibration resistance and ingress protection for outdoor and armoured installations.

How We Manufacture Cable Glands
A cable gland is a sealing system, not a single part, so we machine the body, the compression components and the accessories to work as a set. Bodies and entry components are CNC turned from free-machining brass bar, with stainless steel used where the installation is marine, offshore or chemically aggressive.
Sealing diameters are held to +/-0.01 mm (10 microns), because ingress protection depends on the compression interference between the cone, the seal and the cable.

Cable Gland Manufacturing Process
A cable gland only works if the body, cone and nut share one set of sealing dimensions. We machine the matched set and gauge the entry threads in process, so ingress protection is built in rather than checked for afterwards.
